What it is
MyWorkLog.net is a daily, guided inquiry that helps you tap into the proven benefits of regular self-reflection and mindfulness. By taking a few minutes each day to write down your thoughts and feelings, you become more present and aware, leading to greater clarity, well-being, and personal insight. Over time, you'll track your evolution, see shifts in your concerns, and chart your growth through our indexing and data visualizations.

How it came to be
A few years ago, while working as a web developer, a series of life events knocked me off balance: some serious medical events coincided with some relationship troubles followed by the death of my beloved dog. One of these would have been bad enough, but all happening one after the other left me in a very bad state of mind, and my work suffered as a result.

After my first negative work-review, I started reading books recommended by friends and family and--not for the first time-- took up journaling. Journaling has been effective at bringing clarity in other periods of life, especially during periods of stress or transition, and was very helpful again. But as I worked, I was reminded of the problems with writing in a notebook: the lack of privacy, spilled coffee, being misplaced, etc.. At the same time, through my reading I began to realize that while free-form writing is a wonderful and creative exploration, a guided inquiry can be more powerful tool when are working on a specific goal.

These are the experiences and learnings that led me to develop MyWorkLog.net.

I use it, and it works.
